About Me

Welcome to Urbana Math Physics Tutoring, where the pursuit of academic excellence converges with a genuine passion for teaching. I am an ardent educator committed to delivering top-notch instruction in both Math and Physics to propel students towards academic success. Holding a Ph.D. earned in 2009 from the esteemed University of Nebraska and backed by over two decades of teaching experience and professional research endeavors, I bring a wealth of knowledge to the learning journey. My dedication to education took root during my undergraduate years, and since then, I've been driven by an unwavering passion for teaching. I understand that tackling challenging math and physics courses can be daunting, and that's why I employ unique approaches and methods in my instruction. It's not just about imparting knowledge; it's about cultivating a deep understanding, fostering critical thinking skills, and igniting a curiosity that lasts a lifetime.

In recent years, my commitment to education has broadened to encompass after-school assistance for high school and middle school students, specializing in a comprehensive array of math subjects. My offerings cater to the diverse needs of students, spanning IB Math, AP Calculus, AP Pre-Calculus, Algebra-II, Geometry, Algebra-I and Pre-Algebra. Recognizing the importance of standardized test preparation, I also conduct short-term, intensive 6-month SAT Math courses and one-month boot camps. Over the past five years, my dedication to academic empowerment has been exemplified through the preparation of over 100 students for the SAT math section. Through a tailored approach that accommodates both one-on-one and group tutoring, I have witnessed students not only grasp complex mathematical concepts but also significantly enhance their performance in standardized assessments. This track record speaks to the effectiveness of my methods and underscores my commitment to fostering academic excellence.

Beyond my expertise in Math, as a highly qualified tutor, I am exceptionally well-equipped to navigate students through the intricate challenges of AP Physics and IB Physics. With a strong foundation in the subject matter and a proven track record, I am committed to providing comprehensive tutoring support across all AP Physics subjects. Whether it's Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism, or any other AP Physics topic, I am dedicated to helping students grasp the concepts, excel in their coursework, and achieve success in their AP exams. My personalized approach, coupled with a passion for teaching, ensures that students not only understand the material but also develop a genuine enthusiasm for the fascinating world of physics.

Collaboration is at the heart of our approach. I always collaborate with the student's teacher to gain insights into their performance, identify weak points, and address any challenges. With valuable feedback from teachers, I have numerous success stories of students improving their grades from 'F' to 'B.' My teaching philosophy is simple: 'Every student is a good listener and learner as long as the teacher knows how to explain the content in an engaging way,' and it's never about the teacher; it's all about the student. As an Urbana Math Physics Tutor, my goal is to not only help students grasp complex concepts but to inspire a genuine love for learning.  Academic success is not just a milestone but a testament to the transformative power of quality education. Join me on this educational journey, where we don't just meet standards; we exceed them, setting a course for a future filled with intellectual growth and achievement. My goal is to provide more than just academic support — it's about equipping students with the skills, confidence, and strategies necessary for success in math and beyond. Join me in the pursuit of mathematical mastery and academic achievement, where every session is a steppingstone toward realizing students full academic potential.

Besides my professional careers in teaching and research, I volunteer and organize math and physics-related camps and clubs. I also enjoy exploring and presenting various math and physics facts, as well as posing tricky yet solvable problems that challenge and engage high school students and those preparing for the SAT. Check out videos on our YouTube Channel for more interesting math problems. As an aspiring Math and Physics Tutor, I aim to bridge gaps and inspire growth in Math and Physics education, helping students get best in whatever they pursue.
